UKG Workforce Activity Report Highlights Improved Shift Work Growth Ahead of September Jobs Report

LOWELL, Mass. | According to the UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) Workforce Activity Report for Sept. 21-27, seasonally adjusted weekly U.S. shift growth for September is now averaging 1% per week. Shift work growth began to accelerate in late August with improved growth outpacing summer averages continuing through the middle of September.

Weekly Average U.S. Shift Growth Breaks 1% for First Time Since June

LOWELL, Mass. | According to the UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) Workforce Activity Report for Sept. 14-20, seasonally adjusted average weekly U.S. shift growth for September is now at 1.1% per week. This marks the first time average weekly shift growth has topped 1% since June. Overall, the total volume of shifts worked remains 6.6% below pre-pandemic levels.

Toolbox/HR Technologist | A global survey across 11 nations by The Workforce Institute at UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) has revealed what employees and business leaders expect from the organization going forward. 43% of the employees have said that their organization’s ability to balance workloads to prevent fatigue and burnout is their top priority. It also highlights generation-agnostic concerns about job security: Gen Z and younger Millennials (35%), older Millennials (37%), Gen Xers (36%), and Boomers (34%).
