WORKFORCE ACTIVITY REPORT
Measuring U.S. economic growth with high-frequency data

We’re taking a closer look at our labor index data, including employee shift work, from over 4.2 million employees across 35,000 U.S. businesses. Each month we compile a Workforce Activity Report to better understand the rapidly evolving employment outlook to help business leaders, labor economists, and other groups make better-informed decisions to improve the job market.

UKG Workforce Activity Report - January 2023

Workforce activity was flat (0.0% change) from December 2022 to January 2023. While the number of shifts being worked by people at U.S. businesses did not increase, it also stabilized following the dip experienced between November and December, bringing a welcome calm to the labor market.
