LOWELL, Mass., and WESTON, Fla. | A new study on pay equity in America sponsored by UKG and conducted by Harvard Business Review Analytic Services, reveals organizations are making progress when it comes to prioritizing equal pay among men, women, and underrepresented groups in the workplace. However, employers and employees have vastly different perceptions on how that is being achieved, and significant, systemic barriers remain when it comes to implementing long-lasting change.

Protocol | Payroll company UKG announced this week that it would be making a large contribution to closing the pay gap. UKG will contribute 18 cents for each employee paid each year via its payroll system. The money will go to nonprofits dedicated to pay equity. 18 cents also represents the current gender wage gap in America.

HCM Tech Report | UKG announced an effort intended to drive awareness and encourage action that addresses pay disparities between men, women and underrepresented groups. The UKG Close the Gap Initiative will fund a number of programs, nonprofits, awareness-building efforts, education and research in support of pay equity.

Employee Benefit News | HR and workforce management solutions company UKG hopes its Close the Gap Initiative can do something to change that. The tech company will be contributing $0.18 for each of the 15 million people who are paid using a UKG system, for a total of $3 million, to nonprofits, research and educational resources that work to bring awareness and change to pay inequity in America.
