UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), a leading global provider of human capital management (HCM), payroll, HR service delivery, and workforce management solutions, today announced it ranked #7 on Australia’s Best Workplaces 2021 list by Great Place to Work, in the Medium Company (100-999 employees) category for the country, marking a five-spot increase from the company’s previous ranking.
UKG has over 250 employees (“U Krewers”) across Australia and New Zealand, serving 3.5 million users of UKG solutions in the region. According to the Trust Index survey administered by Great Place to Work, 90% of U Krewers in Australia consider UKG a great place to work, compared with 55% of employees at a typical Australia-based company. Additionally, according to 2021 survey feedback from UKG employees:
- 96% of U Krewers in Australia say, “People care about each other here [at UKG].”
- 96% say, “When you join the company, you are made to feel welcome.”
- 95% agree, “I am treated as a full member here, regardless of my position.”
As one U Krewer in Australia wrote in their Trust Index survey response: “There is an underlying feeling of people working together as a true collective and being well-respected regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. [UKG is] more a sense of family belonging than just being a place to work.”
UKG has focused on keeping its employees safe and cared for throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, living by its company promise, “Our purpose is people.” This includes establishing the PeopleInspired Giving Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that provides financial relief for UKG employees and their family members worldwide who have been adversely affected by the pandemic, as well as other unforeseen tragedies, such as a natural disaster. To date, the foundation has provided more than 130 grants to U Krewers and their families across the globe, delivering over $324,000 in direct employee aid.
“What a remarkable accomplishment for our UKG family in Australia to be recognized as a great place to work in our premiere year as UKG,” said Aron Ain, chairman and CEO at UKG. “And what a year it has been for all of us. UKG remains committed to caring for our employees and their families; supporting our customers and their employees; living our people-driven purpose every day; and embodying our core values of always being united and kind to one another as we continue to grow, together.”
Part of several Great Place to Work lists across the world, Australia’s Best Workplaces honors organizations that lead the way in building cultures that serve all individuals, regardless of job role, gender, race/ethnicity, age, tenure, or sexual orientation. As part of the evaluation, employees complete the confidential Trust Index survey, with 60 questions on workplace topics ranging from trust and fairness to respect and camaraderie. Organizations also submit a comprehensive Culture Audit with quantitative data and open responses on the qualities, programs, and practices that make the company a great workplace for all individuals, such as caring, hiring, welcoming, celebrating, professional development, recognition, and service in the community.
The Australia’s Best Workplaces list ranking follows a number of Great Place to Work awards recognizing UKG worldwide in recent months. This includes UKG ranking #1 on The Best Places to Work in Mexico list and #6 on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list in the United States; as well as ranking on Best Workplaces lists in Canada, India, and the United Kingdom. While this is the first year the UKG brand has appeared on Australia’s Best Workplaces list, this is the sixth consecutive year the company has been named to the prestigious list, previously ranking as Kronos Incorporated prior to the 2020 Kronos-Ultimate Software merger that created UKG. The consistent rankings have earned UKG a Gold certification from Great Place to Work Australia, honoring the company’s ongoing commitment to fostering a “For All” culture.
“We congratulate all of our U Krewers across Australia for helping UKG win this great honor, in what has proven to be a truly unprecedented year and a half,” said Charles DeWitt, VP and GM of operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia at UKG. “While we continue to adapt to many changes, simultaneously navigating our industry-changing global merger and the life-altering COVID-19 pandemic, our employees have remained resilient and focused on ensuring UKG continues to be a great workplace for all people, and a great HR and workforce management partner to our customers. We’re proud to be ranked as a leading organization for work culture in Australia.”
