Product features and functionality: What Sarah is most excited about
Administration tab — I am a super user, so I rely on the Administration tab A LOT. I like that I have access to control the application because I really enjoy seeing how everything fits together, knowing how things work, and understanding why they work the way they do. I want to be as self-sufficient as possible, and the Administration tab helps me accomplish that.
Resources: What Sarah can’t live without
Kronos Global Support (KGS) — My safety net is KGS. I can't live without the ability to open a case with them in Kronos Community. But I only open a case with KGS after I have looked at the discussion boards, articles, and job aids in Kronos Community and referenced Kronos blogs. If I can’t find an answer or my situation, I’ll open a case. The knowledge that each case manager has and their ability to help me understand why my setup did not work as expected are invaluable to me. I worked for three months with the same case manager on an accrual setup that was not functioning correctly. He never gave up, and we kept working on it until we had an answer (and fix).
Tips and tricks: Advice from Sarah
Embrace the opportunity to try new things with your solution — My advice to other Kronos users is to not be afraid to make changes. Learn all you can first, and test, test, test. Take as much training as you can, take all the classes that you can, and attend as many events as you can (even if they are webinars or virtual).
Just for fun: Sarah’s claim to fame
Problem-solving — I like researching product features. For example, understanding why pay rules, accruals, or attendance policies don't function as expected. I enjoy the detective work required to figure out a specific issue. When I open a case, I don't just want someone to send me the steps to fix an issue, I want them to walk me through how they found it and how to fix it. I am passionate about learning and finding more efficient ways of completing tasks. I will spend time learning something new so that I can create a process that makes tasks easier and faster for my managers and team members.
