UKG Welcomes #1 Ranked Women’s Tennis Player, Ashleigh Barty, to Family of Athletes
UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), a leading global provider of HCM, payroll, HR service delivery, and workforce management solutions, has strengthened its roster of UKG athlete ambassadors with the addition of Ashleigh (Ash) Barty – the #1 ranked women’s tennis player in the world.
“We warmly welcome Ash to ‘Team UKG’ as an athlete who exemplifies the characteristics that reflect the UKG brand,” said Chris Todd, president at UKG. “As Ash is committed to her craft and to her community, so are U Krewers who are passionate about serving their teams, customers, and communities.”
Ash (Instagram, Twitter), 25, born in Queensland, Australia, has had two #1 seasons (2019 and 2020) in her 10-year professional career, including 11 Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) singles titles – being the first Australian to win the women’s singles at Roland Garros since 1973 and the first Australian to achieve the #1 Women’s ranking since 1976.
Ash took a break from tennis in 2014 and played professional cricket with the Women’s Big Bash League in Australia, demonstrating her skill level across multiple sports. Ash, who is of Indigenous heritage on her father Robert’s side, is Tennis Australia’s National Indigenous Ambassador and works passionately to get Indigenous kids playing sport and provide them with education opportunities.
“I’m honoured to be a UKG athlete and an ambassador for a company whose purpose is people,” said Ashleigh Barty, professional tennis player, Team UKG. “Partnering with companies who share my values is very important to me and I am excited to work with UKG on initiatives that are close to my heart.”
The addition of Ash confirms UKG’s relationship with the #1 ranked tennis players in the world with its existing relationship with Novak Djokovic. Other athletes on UKG’s bench of ambassadors include: Marina Alex, Brittany Altomare, Daniel Berger, Fred Couples, Jaye Marie Green, Brooke Henderson, Megan Khang, Nelly Korda, J.T.
