Learning Lineup: Making the most of your UKG Dimensions Data

The learning opportunities available to UKG Dimensions® users are as abundant as the features that come with your solution. Keeping up with the latest releases on top of learning how to fully maximize the solution’s capabilities can sometimes be challenging. You may catch yourself wondering where to even begin your learning journey, which is why we’re introducing a new series called the UKG Dimensions Learning Lineup.

The UKG Dimensions Learning Lineup recommends UKG Community™ University courses that will help set you up for success to use your workforce management solution to its full capability. Backed by our Learning team experts, they help inform this series with which courses customers should focus on so that you’re not overwhelmed when you enter the UKG University course catalog.

For our first lineup, it’s all about reporting and dataviews, which we know is always a hot topic for our users. Read on to find session descriptions, learning objectives, and registration links, but before we dive into the lineup, here’s a few quick tips on how to register for the courses:

Know Before You Register (KBYR)

It’s important to note that the listed classes below require advanced registration of at least 5 business days prior to the scheduled time listed. You will also need access to the UKG Community to enroll in live courses. Prior to registering for a course, please verify that you have signed up for the UKG Community. Once verified that you have a UKG Community account, follow these four easy steps to register:

1. Log in to community at community.ukg.com. (Don’t have an account? Check out this resource to learn how to create one.)
2. Select the link for the course you would like to register for (listed below).
3. Select the “Module 1 Start!!” button to register for the session.

Each course will have multiple dates and times offered. Please choose the one that works best with your schedule.

The Lineup

For those who live and breathe numbers, navigating the robust reporting features in your solution may be second nature, but for those who want to sharpen their reporting skills and get a better understanding of your solution’s data, this lineup is just for you. The three courses we’re highlighting are live, instructor-led sessions with hands-on practice in a UKG training environment. Now, let’s dive in!

Administration Essentials: Dataviews 

Register

Duration: 2 hours

Course type: Live instructor-led

This course provides you with the opportunity to explore and practice the concepts and critical tasks necessary to maintain and modify Employee and Business Structure Dataviews. It offers hands-on practice with updating a Dataview to add a new column, insert a chart, and add a calculation. Attendees will also practice creating an Employee Dataview and a business structure Dataview.

Administration Essentials: Basic Report Building 

Register

Duration: 3.5 hours

Course type: Live instructor-led

This training will allow you to learn and practice the concepts and critical tasks necessary to generate and modify employee and business-structure reports. Attendees will get hands-on practice with updating a report to add a new column, apply varying sorts to report data, create report data objects, and create an employee report and a business structure report.

Administration Essentials: Advanced Report Formatting Techniques

Duration: 3.5 hours

Course type: Live instructor-led 

Learn how to apply advanced formatting techniques to employee and business structure reports. Participate in hands-on practice with updating a report to include conditional formatting, calculated fields, groups and totals, and charts. Pro tip: To get the most out of this course, please make sure you attend Basic Report Building prior to registering.
