UKG Workforce Activity Report: January Shift Contraction Marks First Time Shifts Have Declined in Consecutive Months During Pandemic
LOWELL, Mass. and WESTON, Fla. | According to the U.S. Workforce Activity Report from UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), total shift work1declined 3% in January. This marks the first time during the pandemic that shift work declined in consecutive months—though the January decrease can be attributed, in part, to annual seasonal fluctuations in the workforce that occur following December.

16.1 Million U.S. Employees May Be Sidelined by Monday’s Super Bowl Hangover
LOWELL, Mass. and WESTON, Fla. | An estimated 16.1 million U.S. employees may miss work the Monday after Super Bowl LV, according to the annual Super Bowl absenteeism survey commissioned by The Workforce Institute at UKG and conducted online by The Harris Poll among more than 1,000 employed U.S. adults. However, more than two-thirds of U.S. employees (69%) say they would feel guilty pretending to be sick to get out of work on the day after the Super Bowl this year when so many people are actually sick.
