UKG volunteer initiatives foster community engagement and strengthen company culture.
The ethos of giving is so strong at UKG, that many departments partner with the Social Equity, Opportunity, and Impact team to include volunteer projects in their large team meetings, giving attendees opportunities to work together to support local nonprofit organizations.
Many U Krewers want to do more than just write a check to an organization. They want to be actively engaged in supporting a nonprofit organization’s needs.
“Building hygiene kits with handwritten notes of inspiration for the nonprofit organization Showering Love didn’t just showcase UKG’s values ― it also strengthened our team bonds while giving back to the community. Writing notes such as ‘From our hearts to yours’ and ‘Your story matters’ were intended to uplift the recipients, but they ended up inspiring us to be kinder, humbler, and all-around better humans.”

U Krew Volunteer Support
During 2024, UKG supported local organizations and communities by:
- Planning 41 large team meeting service events, with 3,646 U Krewers participating
- Organizing 63 volunteer events, with 853 U Krewers attending
- Arranging seven in-office social impact events, attracting 48 U Krewers
Sales Kick-Off showcases volunteerism
The breadth of UKG volunteer events that Amy, Events Specialist, has been involved with helps her create meaningful volunteer activities for U Krewers at large team meetings, such as the annual Sales Kick-Off (SKO) event.
During SKO, Amy partnered with the Social Equity, Opportunity, and Impact team to plan a large two-day teambuilding and volunteer activity that saw hundreds of U Krewers packing 5,600 hygiene and supply bags. The bags were then donated to active military service members in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She shares that a number of U Krewers stopped by to volunteer, even if they had only 15 minutes to spare.
“They were ready to gear up and help,” she says. “That just shows that UKG as a whole is just an amazing company with amazing people that care about their communities.”
During the meal packing, she says a U Krewer approached her and said, “As much as we’re here to learn at these events, I love doing this type of thing. Please continue these volunteer opportunities.”
Roles and tenure are unimportant during these volunteer activities, as many of the participants range from individual contributors to C-Suite executives. When participating, U Krewers are meeting each other, networking, and creating memories together.
Aspire inspires customers to get involved
When customers gather at UKG’s annual Aspire conference, a volunteer activity is one of the first things they participate in alongside partners and U Krewers in attendance.
In 2023, over 5,300 UKG customers and U Krewers attended the event and had the opportunity to put together 10,000 hygiene kits for area nonprofits like The Shade Tree, Las Vegas Rescue Mission, and Shannon West Homeless Youth Center.
“We feel it’s our duty to do what we can to let the Las Vegas community know that we appreciate them,” says Lisa, VP, Customer Engagement Marketing, UKG.

Customers understood the message. Many of them were so moved by the Aspire hygiene kit activity that they asked for information to help them replicate it at their own events and conferences. “This definitely was an aspirational experience for our customers,” says Heather, Senior Director of Social Equity, Opportunity, and Impact at UKG, who adds that customers also were inspired to institute paid time-off policies for volunteering, as UKG has.
Building culture through caring
“There was no better way to bring us together as a team than through service. It was truly a heart-warming experience.”
