What can I do to prepare for my interview at UKG? As a part of our competency-based interviewing process, you will be asked questions using the STAR method, or “Tell me about a time when,” so have personal experiences ready to share. Also, make sure you read all interview communications for details such as dates, times, and any virtual interview instructions, if applicable. We encourage our candidates to put their best foot forward in an interview and dress as you would for a day at work. Make sure you have a list of questions to ask your interviewer that shows you’ve done your research on UKG, and that you are interested in learning more about the organization, department and team you are interviewing with. Don’t forget to ask about our ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) to learn more about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging at UKG!
When will you notify me that a job that I applied for online has been filled? We will reach out when you are no longer in consideration for a role you applied to — either by email or directly via phone. You can also check the status of your application by logging into your candidate profile.
What is the STAR method?
STAR is an acronym that stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result. This method is particularly useful when answering behavioral and situational questions. By using the STAR method, you paint a picture of the situation (S), explain your responsibilities or tasks (T), describe the steps and action you took and any learnings you had (A), and provide the results (R). When using this method, you can also consider your transferrable skills. We often have skills that apply to a job, but just through a different context.
How do I prepare for a technical interview?
Technical questions will be aligned with the qualifications and experience outlined in the job description. Be ready to showcase your knowledge and experience. For certain roles, the recruiter may inform you that the interview includes a whiteboard exercise and/or mock presentation.
What can I expect for an onsite interview?
If you are interviewing onsite at one of our office locations, you will receive everything you need to know in the interview confirmation email. It is important to use the address we provide, since some of our locations may have multiple buildings. Parking instructions will be provided, if applicable. We will also assign a greeter to welcome you and escort you to the interview room.
What can I expect for a virtual interview?
We use Microsoft Teams for most of our virtual interviews. The Microsoft Teams link to join the meeting will be provided in your interview confirmation email. Please note, we will not send a separate calendar invitation. If you have never used Microsoft Teams before, we recommend reviewing our Microsoft Teams Tips, which will be linked in the interview confirmation email.
How do I send a thank you note to my interviewer(s)?
Please send an email to the recruiter with your message and the name of the interviewer you would like to send it to. Our team will be happy to relay your message to them.

It has been brought to our attention that there have been instances of fraudulent job offers, purporting to be from UKG.
Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated scam offering fake job opportunities to job seekers. This type of fraud is normally carried out through online services such as false websites, or through fake e-mails claiming to be from the company. The fraudsters often request recipients to provide sensitive personal information, financial information, and/or to make payments as part of their fake recruiting process.
